1
1

Now, contingent upon approval of this 110 permit application, B & B
' Mining, Inc. will sell part of the 352 acres to RILC. It is expected that Alpine
Rock will request removal of the land being sold to RILC from their permit, if and
when this permit is issued. It is further expected that Alpine Rock will wish to
retain the right to mine the lands not being sold to RILC (i.e., the Williams
Placer, MS #1118).
t Until discussing the above situation with you, there was some question
whether or not two permits could be granted for the same piece of property.
You indicated that DMG's fundamental charge is to ensure reclamation of
mined lands and that having two permits on the same parcel only increased the
assurance that those mined lands would be reclaimed. Therefore, DMG had no
problem with issuing two permits for the same piece of property.
' We hope the application meets with your approval. The law does not
require very much reclamation of previously disturbed lands such as these
dredge tailing. We think you will agree that this operation will improve the land
and that the reclamation committed to in this application is an improvement over
the reclamation committed to in the existing Alpine Rock Permit.
' I look forward to working with you again. We would appreciate your
processing the application as expeditiously as possible. Please call with any
questions.
' Yours Very Truly,
-,P"~- a ~ ~,~.,.._
' Larry F'Brown, Ph.D.
President, L.F. Brown & Assoc. Inc.
1
1
1
1
