3
• •
Ms. Carol Pahlke
Mined Land Reclamation
April 30, 1979 3
(6) Rock faces of the Fox Hills will not be revegetated.
(7) (a) The Estimated Reclamation Timetable shows 2.17 acres will be backfilled
and graded. This is the pit area other than the Fox Hills rock.
Obviously, 12.59 acres will have to be smoothed, soiled or not soiled,
and revegetated. If you wish to classify this as regrading, please
advise. The difference of 0.41 acres between 12.59 acres and 13.00
acres is the rock face.
(b) Same problem.
(8) No. Only on Board demand.
(9) The operator greatfully accepts the suggestion of the Mined Land Reclamation
staff. We shall adopt the mixture into our plan. We deeply appreciate the
staff accepting the responsibility for growth.
(10) We accept the suggestion as to fall seeding. Please designate dates.
(11) Comment noted.
(12) The staff's usual recormnendation is western wheatgrass. If that is no
longer acceptable, please specify an alternative.
(13) Roughing is a natural occurrence in a backfill. We see no problems with
soil stability.
(14) We are not sure how to control the weeds. Please advise best procedure.
We do not wish to exterminate existing natives.
Exhibit G
(1) Mining in Stage I will commence approximately 100 feet north of Church
ditch. We do not believe this excavation will adversely affect the
stability of either ditch. This is a normal ditch setback. Unless the
Board rules otherwise, nothing further will be submitted.
(2) Any move of either ditch will be covered by an addendum to the application.
(3) Nonsense. Consult C.G.S.
(4) No water has been encountered.
Exhibit .I
03' Thy ~p ~ TL l
(1) idot unless demanded by Board. [de aie willing to accept the report of the
SC6.~ Refer to Rules b Regulations 2.12(9).
