well, and following mining. Wells within an active panel will be
logged oncc; every five years following mining to monitor formation
movement and re-define total depth. By repeating the gamma ray
logs, moverent of the formation due to subsidence can be detected.
Subsequent subsidence wells will be constructed when 625,000 tons
of nahcolite have been mined and monitoring wells will not exceed
a distance of 1000 feet apart. Wells 88-1, 91-1V, 93-3V, 4A-4V,
will used for subsidence wells.
- At least one multi-point bore hole extensometer will be install in
panel # 1 to measure subsidence. Completion of the extensometer
will be in the Mahogany Zone and below the B-Groove and over an
injection point of cavity #4. Continuous measurement of formation
movement will provide data on possible subsidence.
2.0 Surface Subsidence
WRN has a grid of surface monuments which span the mining area (well field
or panel). Some of the ronuments are located outside the zone of influence
from subsidence, while others have been placed directly over the well field.
Annual surveys are conducted to measure surface subsidence.
32
