T
~ i •
-3-
Except for the pond banks and the slope near the road, the pit
area will be left relatively flat (1~ to 5~ slope). All of the
affected area will be reseeded, except for that area shown on the
reclamation map to be unseeded. Preparation for seeding will consist
of the grading mentioned above, followed by the placement of at
least six inches of fines from the washing operation or six inches
of material rejected or stipped during other mining operations,
Seeding will be done with a mixture of Crested ~Sheatgrass
@ eight lb. PLS/acre, ~4estern 14heatgrass @ ten lb. PLS/acre, and
Indian Ricegrass at ten lb. PLS/acre. This mixture will be broad-
cast on the area of revegetation. A commercial fertilizer will be
determined at the time of reclamation by the use of soil analysis
and be applied by broadcasting, A disc or seed drill will not be
used due to the large amount of rock e~hich will be present at the
surface.
All structures and buildings will be removed from the affected
area.
The area is not accessible to livestock and will not be fenced
after revegetation. Game animals could damage the revegetation
efforts, but at this time, it is felt that a fence large enough to
keep elk out is impractical.
Due to the small size of the area and the fact that all of the
affected area will be used until mining ceases, reclamation will
not begin until that time, and will be done all at once. The
grading will be performed upon removal of all structures and equipment.
The seeding will be done during either late fall or spring.
