We have concerns regarding the water usage
proposed by Agile Stone Systems for their mining permit.
How will their proposed usage of 30,000 gallons of water daily affect the ground
water levels in this area? Since our well is spring fed, I have concerns about the
impact their usage of water and/or the blasting might have on our water supply.
It is our belief that the spring our well feeds from could be depleted or diverted.
Our water well was drilled through shale, since a good portion of our property
consists of shale. 1 was told by a geologist that shale has been known to "shift"
from the effects of blasting. Because I work at Centuri Corporation and have
witnessed (and felt) first hand the damaging effects that blasting by Portland has
caused to the administration building, I know this to be true.
We have a 100-year old artesian well on our property. For the first time in nearly
100 years, this well is dry. Is it a coincidence that this well dried up completely
about the same time that Agile Stone Systems did their "test blasting"?!! I
believe there is a connection.
3.1.8 Wildlife
Serious consideration needs to be given to the impact the noise, lights, dust,
pollution and blasting caused by this 24-hour operation could have on the deer,
