C C <br />Nlr. Jeff Deckler <br />May 21, 1985 <br />Page Two <br />PUBLIC NOTICE OF BLASTING SCHEDULE <br />Enclosed is an expample of the public notice of the blasting schedule. This notice <br />will be published at least !0 days, but no more than 20 days before beginning the blasting <br />program. This notice has been distributed to local governments, public utilities and <br />residents within one-half (15) mile of the area described in the notice. This notice will be <br />published and redistributed at least every twelve (12) months. <br />SURFACE BLASTING REQUIREMENTS <br />Unavoidable hazardous conditions which could possibly occur at the blast site that <br />would require the detonation of charged holes at times outside of those listed in the <br />blasting schedule or between sunset and sunrise include but are not limited to: disposal of <br />misfires, electric storms, equipment breakdowns or other unpredictable situations in <br />which the safety of mine employees or the public is endangered. <br />~~ <br />~J <br />WFC understands a blast that has been detonated outside of the published blasting <br />schedule or between sunset and sunrise must be explained in a report to the Director <br />within three (3) days of the blast. _. <br />Warning and all clear signals will be as follows: A series of five long whistle or horn <br />signals, a period of silence, then another series of five short signals will be given before <br />each detonation. One long continuous whistle or horn signal will be given for all clear. <br />ADDITIONAL FORMS <br />Enclosed is a copy of the blast record form for each blast and blaster in charge <br />record. <br />Sincerely, <br />5' <br />David M.
