The contours on the plats submitted tend to show the existing slopes within
each pit area and indicates that 2:1 slopes are not out of order. You must
also realize that the reclamation plan calls for a maximum of 2:1 (nothing
steeper than).
6. Only necessary on one pit.
7. Any reference to overburden included in any of the above applications should
be changed to topsoil.
8. None of the above pits have adjacent land owners.
9. Since surface ownership in this county includes gravel deposits, we feel that
our options or permits constitute notice to the owners that pit or pits will
be developed.
11. On all plats the contoured area is the only area that will be or is disturbed
except where permit area is noted and approximately 909 of these areas have
been stripped of existing topsoil, which varies from an average depth of 0"
to 2 feet. The depth of most of our pits are shallow, less than 10 feet of
gravel, due to geological formations within the area and the scarcity of
this type of material within the county except the White River flood plain.
Yours very truly,
' `/.
Wa ter Coo c, Road Supervisor
,.~ ...
.~
