• P~ 16
June 18, 1985
Daniel's Pit 2
~. Farrell
(lrhar Tramc
Item 1 - Upon reviewing file 73-007, it appeared that the 1983 Annual
Report, Fee, and Map were not submitted. Please check your files to see
/' if these were submitted to us (Anniversary date is January 7th). If
not, please provide the $350.00 Annual Fee not submitted.
RESPONSE: This item has been discussed with you. Mr. C.C.
Herskind is responding under separate cover as to why that report was
not submitted.
Item 2 - Upon reviewing the Annual Reports submitted, it appeared
that 3 acres near Bradley Road were graded and topsoiled in 1983, yet
~ revegetation has not occurred as of January 7, 1985. In the future,
topsoil replacement should immediately preceed revegetation efforts.
Please commit to revegetating this area immediately, if not already
acomplished or commit to preotecting this valuable resource by the
incorportation of (crimped) mulch.
RESPONSE: This area was topsoiled and a party hired to seed [he
area. For some reason, the person who was to seed it never showed up to
do the work. In the meantime, wind and a wet year established
- considerable growth on the area. The results of a recent vegetation
~~„ inventory are presented below.
~.~~,•.,d' ~
The area in question was examined and a presence list made as well
as estimates of cover. Cover was fairly uniform, but did exhibit
extremes of an 80%+ cover in the best areas and a 10% cover in the worst
area. It was estimated that the average cover for the whole area was on
the order of 55% to 65%. This is quite good for a site where the sole
source of revegetation is invasion by species found in surrounding areas
and what was produced by seed material in the soil itself. The species
noted on the site included:
