~,. ~i •mss
i-20 0 8.06AM massey» 3034267780 ~# 5/ 7
~,
-ll-,
an emergency response plan to ensure that the drainage or whatever is
protected. Nhere you're going is that it does overlap ar meet up against some
other agencies which also have some requiraarents for emergency response. wool
we have done is -- you know we are restricted with respect to any solution
that may escape the site and what 1s necessaary to neutralize that solution but
the companies, typically, since tt+ey have a~,response on their other programs,
have cane forth with a more caaprehensive plan, So that's what's happened on
that.
MR. 0.ENNEA: Regarding the buttress, the buttress along the south wall of
the Nest Pit, Me added a proposal during the last Board meeting to install
this buttress if it is necessary to matntair~ the long term integrity of the
south wall after mining operations are eanplleted. At the time of tee Board
meeting we had rot had a chance to evaluatejthe technical aspects of the
buttress. Ne since have had the chance to eo so, Ne have forwarded to the
Ganpany some concerns and comments which we have had and received replies to
those.
Essentially, the buttress is a waste ro~1c dump adjacent to the south wall
and, actually leaning up against the south wall. It's Function is to hold the
wall in place after mining. It`s approximatgty 900 feet in Length and will,
5s I said, ensure the long term .stabi.liSy.oflthis structure. 1 t will extend
free the pit bottom to about the area of thej Santa re conglomerate and
alluvial material contact, It will be about;l4~ feet tall and will oe divided
into trro slopes. The upper slope will be about bD feat tall end will be
about38 degrees overall slope. There will bf same intervening flat areas and
benches created during the construction of thuIs facility.
The lower 80 feet would be constructed to a 3 to 1, or 18 degrees slope.
This lower portion will be topsoiled with eighteen inches and reveaetated
nccnrding tm the reclamation plan we have in !hand. The upper slope would at so
be broadcast seeded and would be randomly plented with pinan juniper type
vegetation. The idea being to ercate a talus, slope type environnent 1n this
area.
i
i
i
