III. WILDLIFE A. Wildlife Baseline Data - KCC Mine Site: KCC will present applicable baseline wildlife data primarily by the use of maps obtained from the Colorado Division of Wildlife depicting distribution of big game, small mammals and birds. Wildlife distribution and other significant features are depicted on the three accompanying wildlife maps. KCC will supplement this material by a narrative identifying and dis- discussing the wildlife values in the mine site. In addi- tion to this information, KCC will also gather and present baseline information spefically focused on sage grouse strutting grounds and migration routes. Continued close monitoring of an eagle's nest located outside but in the • general vicinity of the permit area will be maintained and the result discussed as part of the wildlife baseline data. As a consequence of the small and infrequent amount of runoff in the draws located in the permit area, no aquatic community sampling will be conducted. B. Wildlife Baseline Information - Tipple Site: KCC will gather, catalogue and discuss all available wildlife information on the tipple site and adjacent areas, including the wildlife refuge located immediately to the east of the tipple site. Specific mitigation measures, as appropriate, will be proposed and implemented consistent with KCC's compliance obligations under 30 C.F.R. Part 827.
