C, <br />J <br />• <br />• <br />December 1984 <br />12 <br />863-2060 <br />4.4.2 Edna Mine Instabilit <br />Based on conversations with Mr. Steven Renner of the MLRD, a <br />lobe-shaped failure occurred at the Edna Mine over a three-day <br />period during May of 1984. The failure reportedly occurred along <br />the shaley sandstone units which underlie Wadge mine spoil at the <br />site, and was associated with unusually high ground-water levels. <br />Mesaverde strata at the Edna Mine dip at approximately 14 de- <br />grees, which is considerably greater than the dip of these units <br />at the Colorado Yampa Mine. <br />Golder Associates <br />
