• • -- <br />III III'll'II"II'll E X H I B I T <br />9s9 <br />REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES ACT <br />Transcript of H.B. 1561 <br />(CRS 24-B0.1-101) <br />Transcribed by the Moffat County Road Department from <br />tapes of the legislative history of H.B. 1561 filed in the <br />State Archives at 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado. <br />Second Reading of the House <br />April 24, 1975 4:59 P.M. <br />D <br />Chairman: ".....Will the clerk please read the title of house bill <br />1561" <br />Clerk: "House Bill 1561 by Representatives McCroskey and <br />Webb concerning property of historic significance <br />and providing for a State Register of Historic Places." <br />Chairman: "Representative McCroskey" <br />McCroskey: "Mr. Chairman, members of the committee, I'd move <br />for favorable adoption of House Bill 1561." <br />Chairman: "(inaudible) dispense with the reading of the Bill?" <br />McCroskey: "Yes" <br />Chairman: "There being no objection..ah..the reading of the bill <br />will be dispensed with....Representative McCroskey." <br />McCroskey: "..Ah there is a..ah..committee amendment..it's rather <br />long...but it really doesn't do anything but involves <br />some clari-fi-cation. It sharpens the language and adds <br />some definitions. Since it is rather long I'd just <br />simply like to refer you to the House Journal of April <br />14th and ask for a.. approval of the committee amendment." <br />Chairman: "If there is no objection the amendment will not be <br />read at length - Representative McCroskey" <br />McCroskey: "Thank you, ..ah..we now have a national registry <br />and the cities and counties have some responsibility to <br />look after..ah..things of historical significance..ah <br />ah..1561 will establish a state historical register which <br />will fill the gap between the cities and ah..and the <br />national registery. <br />- EXHIBIT 3 <br />
