Mr. Thomas A. Schreiner
May 16, 2001
Page 5
WETLAND BANKING
Inc
The reclamation plan submitted includes creation of more wetland azea than will be impacted by mining
on this site. The additional wetlands created above and beyond any wetland mitigation that may be
required for impacts to wetlands on this site are planned for establishment of a wetland mitigation bank.
CITY OF LONGMONT COMMENTS
We met with Paula Fitzgerald, of the City of Longmont [o discuss her referral letter to the Division. We
explained to Ms. Fitzgerald that everything north of the river will be owned by Boulder County. Boulder
County has told us that their primary goal is to enhance the wildlife habitat and that it is not appropriate
for a trail to bisect the habitat. They feel it makes more sense to locate the trail along the edge of the
property, possibly along the railroad right-of--way. Aggregate will work with Boulder County and the
City of Longmont on the St. Vrain Greenway. However, we do not feel it is appropriate at this time to
show a trail alignment on the mining maps. We do not anticipate there will be any conflicts with the water
transmission line.
The changes to the application will be filed with the Weld Counry Clerk and recorder no later than the
close of business today. I will fax you a copy of the receipt in the morning. Thank you for your
assistance with this application.
