Morrison Knudsen Corporation
• October 10, 1996
Page 4
we found no distinct advantage to the overall slope stability by placing fill to 90 % density. we
believe that the lower density at 85 % and a moisture content above optimum will mitigate the
expansion potential of the soils. Placement of the fill as described above will result in a uniform
fill at significantly lower densities and higher moisture contents than was encountered in the in-
situ material. we do not believe expansion of the reclaim slope fill to be a concern for the long-
term stability of the slopes.
If you have any questions, or if we can be of further service, please call.
Respectfully Submitted,
MA70M TECHNOLOGIES
Alan J.
