No other big game is known to inhabit affected or surrounding land areas on a seasonal basis. Mammals commonly found on affected land tlrr-ouyhout the year include Nutall's cottontail, porcupines, coyotes and foxes. C. Threatened or Endangered Species: There are no known threatened or endangered species inhabiting af- fected land in Coaldale. A family of golden eagles is known to winter in the country a few miles east of the affected land, and is occasionally seen bunting in the neighboring areas. Mining does not seem to have appreciable affect on the populations of rabbit, gophers, ground rodents, etc. D. Although temporary loss of some graze and browse is evident from the mining operation, not enough area is disturbed to significantly affect wildlife habitat. On the contrary, mule deer and fox are commonly viewed by the workmen throughout the year, especially in the winter months. Noise and human activity do not seem to signi- ficantly affect the wildlife population in the surroundiny area, and eventually, though concerted efforts irr the reclamation program- ininy, the affected land should promote even larger wildlife popula- tions than before mining activities.
