~r
999
EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
FREMONT COUNTY'S IRON MOUNTAIN ROAD GRAVEL PIT
The mining operation will be started as soon as all local, state and
federal permits have been obtained. The life of the mine is predicted
to be ten years.
Removal of topsoil will vary from four inches to ten inches and will
be placed in E configuration-of a berm in the Northwest corner of
the pit. is berm will be seedeJ:.~..~ 7~,,~,~-?
The material at the site has virtually no overburden.
The predicted mining depth is forty feet.
The major components of the operation will consist of a open pit, from
which the road surface material will be extracted, a haul road
approximately 750 feet long, to access the site from Iron Mountain
Road (aka Fremont County Road #1) and a emergency use stockpile.
The mining operation will be conducted by the county road crews on a
need basis with a minimal amount o s ockpil~g to be done except
during major road projects. The equipment to be used in the operation
will consist of a bulldozer to scrape and pile the material, a front-
end loader to load dump trucks so that material may be transported to
use sites. There may be an occasional need~to-sCre'ert-wand stockpile
material. On these occasions,~ckpi es wirl be located as shown on
the map.
The area disturbed by mining will be a rectangular shaped tract with a
dog-leg stem to serve as the haul road, the entire disturbance to
contain approximately 9.8 acres, Approximate dimensions for the pit
site are 650 feet East-West and 640 feet North-South.
The haul road from Fremont County Road #1 (aka Iron Mountain Road)
will be 750 feet in length and 20 feet in width. The construction
will consist of a rough-cut with an overlay of surface material (from
the proposed site) in a sufficient quantity to maintain the road. A
ditch will be cut on the Easterly side of the roadway to insure that
stormwater drainage does not effect the Glen Vista Property Owners
Aeeocintion mining operation.
From all preliminary investigations, there are no indications that
ground water will be encountered throughout the entire project. The
County will require no water to be used in this project, as far as
washing material. For gravel road surface material it is preferred to
have fines in the material so as to provide a binder. A rare occasion
may occur where the haul road may need to be wet down to keep dust at
a minimum. This would be accomplished by using a water truck, which
would be filled from an off-site source.
