drainage.
• The pH values from all of the Trapper wells is within the
range~of natural values for these aquifers. The pH values from
water for the four backfill wells is within the range observed in
the other aquifers.
Radium-226 concentrations were all low in 1990 at the Trapper
Mine except for one value. The three other values from well GF11
Here below 5 pCi/1 and indicate the high value may be in error.
The average flows of the surface water sites of the Trapper
Mine were depressed in 1990 over average flows observed in 1987.
The overall precipitation did increase in 1990 but the lower
precipitation amount during 1988 and 1989 is responsible for the
lower average flows. No failures or monitoring site problems were
encountered during 1990.
• Low flows were responsible for poor flow versus sediment
relationships and rising TDS values during 1990. Other chemical
constituents analyzed from samples collected from the surface water
sites showed little change during 1990. The monitoring data
indicates that the Trapper Mine control structures prevented any
impacts on the surface water systems downgradient of the mine in
1990.
•
6-4
