• monitoring the site on March 6. A no flow period from mid-June to
August was observed. The recorder stopped from August until mid=
October. During October and November there were periods of flow..
although most of this period has no flow as well.
NPDES site 002 (No Name Gulch) recorded a high flow of 664.2
gpm and overall average flow of 164.7 gpm during the period shown
in Figure C-3. The high flow observed from No Name Gulch was most
likely due to snow melt or a D-pit pumping during the last part of
February and the first part of March. Discharges varied throughout
the period, as Figure C-3 shows some of the variability can be
attributed to the precipitation events over the period.
Figure C-4 presents flow versus days for NPDES Site 003 (East
• Buzzard Gulch). Maximum flow of 825.1 was recorded in mid-July and
an average flow for the season 16.9 gpm. This maximum flow was
most likely due to C-pit pumping during July. Data was not
collected at site 003 before mid-July. 1990. Periods of no flow
occurred in late July through mid-August and through most of
October.
NPDES site 005 (Coyote Dam) only had a brief recording period
for the 1990 mining year. Figure C-5 presents the results of this
2 week period. The maximum flow was found to be 1768.1 gpm for
this period while the average flow of 859.9 gpm.
NPDES site 006 recorded a high flow of 13.4 gpm during the
1990 mine year. No flows were recorded from mid-June to mid-
August where the record stops, Figure C-6 presents the flows
versus time for NPDES 006. Low flows dominate the plot with an
average flow during the period of 1.2 gpm.
4-2
