• 12 •
EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
Mining shall commence in mid March 1992, and will continue intermittently for the
next 10 years. The County's use of this pit will be dictated by the County's need for
gr,ivel in the vicinity. We estimate 5,000 cubic yards per year.
Approximately 6" to 12" of topsoil will be salvaged and stockpiled on the easterly edge
of the lease. It be will stabilized with slopes no greater than 3:1 horizontal and vertical
and seeded to vegetation as suggested by the Soil Conservation Service. It is our intent
to locate these stockpiles out of the way of gravel processing traffic. There are no
streams in the area.
It is our plan to mine from the Northwest to the Southeasterly direction. The County
will cease operations upon approach to the boundary lines in order that a 3:1 slope may
be accomplished for reclamation purposes. We do not anticipate a great deal of waste
rock or overburden to deal with. The soils profile suggests gravel almost immediately
under the topsoil to be saved.
We anticipate construction of approximately 200 feet of road to tie into the existing
airport service road which will be used to transport the gravel. We do not intend to
construct any buildings, water facilities, impoundments, etc.
The pit to be opened will consist of removing all topsoil and stockpiling it on the
easterly boundary of the pit area. Excavation will then proceed in depth of the gravel
deposit which we find to be about 15 to 18' in depth. As the pit is enlarged, the
stockpile of gravel will be on the pit floor.
We do not intend to use any water in conjunction with this operation. We have seen no
indication to suggest there is any groundwater on the site.
We do not intend to use any acid-forming or toxic producing materials. This operation
should not affect the hydrologic balance.
This gravel processing operation will include excavating, crushing and screening the
gravel.
