~ ROBINSON ~
BRICK ~
COMPANY ~
~ ~ ~
~ ~
June 26, 1984

~~~~~ ~~~
Mr. Mark Loye
Mined Land Reclamation Division ~IIIV N (; 19b,~
1313 Sherman Street, Room 423 PAINED
Denver, CO 80203 LAND RECLAM,AiION Dl VISION
Colo. Dept. of Natural kesources
RE: "DDD" Operation, File No. D1-84-076
Dear Dlr. Loye:
I will address your questions and comments in the same order as in
your adequacy letter addressed to me and dated June 19, 1984.
FXHTBTT A
1. The legal description is correct. Section 6 is part of the edge
of a township that was shortened east to west to take in account
for the curvature of the earth. This is why the NW',NW', is very
narrow and also why the NE%,N1V', is called Lot #2.
EXHIBIT C
1. North is towards the top of the map (towards the spine of the
folders) as you presumed.
2. The 6100 contour line on all the maps of area lA (this exhibit
and all other lA mpas) is incorrect. New maps are enclosed
and should be inserted in place of the incorrect maps.
EXHTRTT D
1. Each stage contains a type of clay that generally burns a certain
color - lA has red burning clays and 1B has buff burning clays.
Also within those areas, the clays differ a great deal, i.e.,
some areas will burn redder than others. Because the market
place determines the type of clay to be mined, it would be
impossible to state exactly where the mining in each phase would
go. Probably the mining would begin on the west side of stage
lA and proceed easterly; and in stage 16 begin in the southeast
central area and proceed to the northwest. At no time will there
be more than a total of 30 acres between stage lA and 1B disturbed
at one time. In other words, a portion of the disturbed lands
would be reclaimed before a like portion in excess of 30 acres is
disturbed.
P.O.
