<br />Since OW-4L was only 22 feet deep and completed in clayey <br />material, destruction of the well does not present any problems <br />to the groundwater system. Since the wellhead has been destroyed <br />and the hole covered adjacent to or in a cultivated field, it is <br />not likely that the hole can be located in the future. <br />As stated in Section 4.6.3.3 of the approved permit, OW-4L was <br />not located optimally with respect to the propsed facilities and <br />a replacement of the well near its original location is not <br />planned. A new well, as stated in Section 4.6.3.3 will be <br />drilled and completed as monitoring well prior to the mining <br />operation at a location below Pond A. as described in the permit. <br />Si/n~cerel~y, <br />E.
