Long <br />Canon City, CO 812(2 Divivun Duec~or <br />RE: Informal Conference, Agile Stone Systems, Inc., -Parkdale Project, 112 Permit Application, File No. <br />M-97-054 <br />Dear Ms. Chess: <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is reviewing Agile Stone System's application for a regular (I l2) <br />Reclamation Permit to mine granite, gravel, and limestone at their proposed Parkdale Project. We have received letters <br />from individuals indicating [hat [hey are objecting [o approval of the application. <br />When the Division receives timely written objections to a permit application, a hearing process is started. The firs[ step <br />is an Informal Conference which will be held at the Canon City Council Chambers at 6l2 Royal Gorge Boulevard, <br />Canon City, at 1:00 p.m., September 18, 1997, H. Bruce Humphries, Minerals Program Supervisor, will conduct the <br />meeting. <br />At the Informal Conference, each person objecting to approval of the application will be able to present their grounds <br />for objecting, and the applicant and anyone supporting the application will have time to present grounds necessary to <br />support issuance of a Reclamation Permit to mine and reclaim the proposed project site. <br />Any interested person may participate in the Informal Conference by submitting written comments or by appearing in <br />person. <br />The Division will report on the status of the permit review, discuss [he types of issues the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board (MLRB) will consider at the final hearing, and discuss the remainder of the review and hearing process. <br />Agile Stone Systems has requested that the decision date on their application be changed from October 6, 1997 to the <br />November 19-20, 1997 MLRB meeting. <br />Please contact me if you have questions <br />Sincerely, <br />Larry Oehler <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />cc: H.
