• H . Short-Term RevegPtation Potential -The ability of a plant to become established end <br />persist over a period of 1 to 3 years (includes annuals) in Colorado. (Based on growth, <br />cover and reproduction). <br />I. Long-Term Reveeetation Potential -The ability of a plant to become established and <br />persist over a period of more than 3 years of Colorado. (Based on growth, cover, repro- <br />duction and stand maintenance characteristics). <br />J. Cover Value -The degree to which a plant provides environmental protection during <br />one or more seasons (i.e. thermal, nesting, brooding or feeding cover, etc.) for wildlife <br />species in Colorado. <br />K. Food Value - The relish and degree of use shown by a wildlife species for a plant or <br />plant part, as well ea the plant's availability throughout its range in Colorado. <br />L. Forage Palatahility -The relish and degree of use shown by livestock for a plant or <br />plant part in Colorado. <br />• M. Fngtgv Vales -The usable energy a plant provides to livestock or wildlife during the <br />period from flowering or early seed formation to the following spring, within a com- <br />parable life form (a grass is compared to other grasses) in Colorado. <br />1. High -Retains usable energy value well during fall and winter (cures well and/or <br />retains leaves, etc.) <br />2. Medium -Retsina usable energy value moderately well during fall and winter. <br />3. Low -Poor retention of usable energy value during fall and winter. <br />N . Protein Value -The digestible protein a plant provides to livestock or wildlife during <br />the period from flowering or early seed formation to the following spring, within a <br />comparable life form in Colorado. <br />ARIZONA FESCUE: FESTUCA ARIZONICA VASEY <br />• Arizona fescue is a native perennial bunch grass preferring dry-moist sites from <br />6,500 to 11,600 feet.
