Lnng <br />Dwis~on Uireclar <br />RE: Discharge Monitoring Reports, 4th quarter, 1999, Mew Elk Mine, #C-81-012 <br />Discharge Monitoring Reports, 1s`-4th quarter, 2000, New Elk Mine, #C-81-012 <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology has reviewed the Discharge Monitoring Reports <br />(reports) for the New Elk mine, CDPS permits COG-310069 and CO-0000906 for the <br />above periods. <br />Permit COG-310069 4th quarter 1999 <br />The report for COG-310069 again indicates no discharge during the 4th quarter from <br />the now inactive Remediation System. This is consistent with field inspection <br />observations during the quarter. Also noted is your request to terminate the inactive <br />permit. <br />Permit COG-310069 1st quarter 2000 <br />The report for COG-310069 again indicates no discharge during the 1st quarter from the <br />now inactive Remediation System. This is consistent with field inspection observations <br />during the quarter. Noted is your statement that the site had been inspected by WOCD <br />but no letter or inspection has been received. Also noted is your comment that <br />Discharge Monitoring Report's will no longer be submitted for this inactive site. If a <br />letter from WOCD confirming termination of this CDPS permit is now available, please <br />submit a copy to DMG for our records. <br />Permit COG-0000906 4th quarter 1999 <br />The report for COG-0000906 indicates no discharge during the 4th quarter 1999 from <br />the four sediment pond outfalls, two mine water discharge outfalls, and the domestic <br />waste water outfall to pond 6. <br />Permit COG-0000906 1st quarter 2000 <br />
