Cinquefoil (Potentilla gracilis)
Herbaceous sage (Artemisie indoviciana)
Houndstongue (Cynoglossum officinale)
Burdock (Articum minu~
Bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare)
Yellow evening primrose Oenothera~-
Other plants may be present, but were not evident at the time the
survey was made.
Generally, the soils occurring on the two areas are suitable for topsoil,
but the variation in depth may limit successful removal and replacement.
It appears that a portion of Area 1 will be excavated so as to enlarge
an existing pond. Sideslopes of embankments should be at least 3:1 to
assist in grass establishment.
Grass species selected for reseeding area #2 should be able to withstand
droughty conditions. The western wheatgrass now growing there would be
• a good species to use. For the topsoil to have arty beneficial effect,
it should be replaced evenly to at least a ]2 inch depth.
•
