MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT C
noted above the landowners have used the site for many years
removing the soil layer and mining to about 15 feet deep. When
mining ends the floor will be leveled and reseeded using the
seedmix shown in the soils information on page 5.
As noted in the soils and vegetation section there is 8 to
12 inches of topsoil on the site. When encountered it will be
stripped and stockpiled around the perimeter of the site for use
in reclamation. if the soil stockpiles remain undisturbed for
more than one growing season a cover crop of Western Wheatgrass
will be planted at a rate of 3.0 pls/200 Ft~.
The entrance to this site will be from an existing road used
for internal access by the landowners. This road is their
primary access to the feedlot and southern part of their land and
it will remain after mining is complete. This road is not
included in the permit because it is an existing road that will
remain when reclamation is complete. Periodic grading will be
necessary to keep the road in its present condition and to make
it passable.
On-site equipment may include, but is not limited to, a
motor grader, front-end loaders, motor scrapers, a dozer, convey-
ors, a screening plant, dump trucks and a water truck. Final
processing may be done offsite depending on the need at a partic-
ular project site. The material will be excavated with a dozer
and placed in stockpiles for loadout using a front end loader, it
may then be moved to a conveyer, screened and loaded out or it
may just be loaded directly in trucks and hauled to a project
site.
Little or no water will be used at the site. This material
tends to pack down creating a very stable surface that is not
susceptible to erosion. If dust control water is use it will be
obtained from sources Yuma County has available and approved for
that use.
9
