During
the month of September 2004, DMP 004 discharged for about one week, during which time it was
monitored and sampled. DMP 004 and 007 did not exceed any compliance criteria in September 2004.
The routine quarterly wet testing was not performed during the third quarter 2004 due to issues
with the laboratory test results. P&M Coal performed repeated accelerated wet tests between July and
September 2004, submitting samples to two different labs. The test results and laboratory concerns were
discussed by Mr. Steve Leach (P&M Coal) with Mr. Jeff Coombe (CDH). Based on the split-sample
test results, P&M Coal will use the new lab for future wet testing. Attached is a copy of a letter, dated
September 27, 2004, providing the accelerated wet test results.
I will be traveling the rest of this week. Please feel free to call me on my cell phone, (307) 760-
5657, or leave a message at (307) 742-0031 ext. 19 or bheesen@wwcengineering.com with any
questions or comments you have regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
~~~
Beth A.
