MONITORING REQUIRE"lENTS <br />7, WET Phase I TRE (continued) <br />If toxicity disappears during the Phase I TRE, the permittee shall <br />submit written no cificacion co chat effect to the Division. The <br />Division may require the permictee co conduct accelerated testing co <br />demonstrate the continued absence of toxicity. If, after completing <br />any Division directed accelerated testing, no acute toxicity is found <br />to exist, the permittee shall resume normal quarterly testing. <br />8. WET Phase II TRE <br />A plan for a Phase II TRE shall be submitted (date of receipt) co the <br />Division by the permictee within 60 days of the submission (dace of <br />receipt) of the Phase I TRE Report. The Phase II TRE, as submitted to <br />or revised by the Division, shall Se incorporated into the permit as a <br />modified compliance schedule. <br />The Phase II TRE plan shall include the scope, methods, procedures, <br />reporting requirements, and schedules. A Phase II TRE may follow <br />either of two. directions, as apprepriace: toxicant treatability <br />studies, or toxicant/source identification and control studies. <br />Toxicant treatability studies are designed to assess the feasibility <br />of elimiracing WET via addition or modification of treatment processes <br />at the wastewater treatment facility. <br />Toxicant/source identification and control efforts are designed co <br />identify toxicants, identify the so.:rces of coxicancs, and control <br />whole effluent toxicity by eliminac`.ng the introduction of toxicants <br />into the wastewater creatm.•~t fac:..`•~. Toxic~.t-: identification <br />studies performed ev the c -'aitcz ~ '.1 ... ir. ,eneral accordance with <br />accepted methods fcr Toxic."; ;dc:~_ .cation Frocedures and Toxicity <br />Confirmation Procedures. ;he ?hare I TR°_ permi~ conditions may be <br />amended, if so requested and just:fi_d by the permittee. <br />The Phase II TRE report shall indicate .he results of the Phase II TRE <br />study. If the Phase II TRE results in the identification of the <br />coxicancs, the sources of coxicancs or treatment for elimination of <br />the toxicant, the permittee shall submit for Division approval a <br />control program co control WET within 60 days of submission (dare of <br />receipt) of the Phase II TRE Report, and shall proceed co implement <br />such plan within 7 days following receipt of written approval from the <br />Division. <br />If toxicity disappears during the Phase II TRE, the permictee shall <br />submit written notification co Chac effect to the Division. The <br />Division may require the permittee co conduce accelerated testing co <br />demons crate the continued absence of toxicity.
