3. Findings
3.1 Groundwater Elevations
Measured depth to groundwater data (Table 1) were used to develop groundwater elevation
contours (Figure 2). Groundwater generally flows towards the south to the Arkansas River, as
reported by previous investigators (e.g., BBL, 2002; RGI 1999) with no significant changes noted
this sampling period.
3.2 Analytical Results
Laboratory analysis of the groundwater sample was conducted at STL's Denver, Colorado
facility. Results of the laboratory analyses are provided in Table 2. The Laboratory Data Report
is provided as Appendix A.
Concentrations of metals and other constituents measured in groundwater were compared with all
applicable CDPHE groundwater quality standards {CDPHE, 2001). Where multiple standards
exist for a single constituent, the most stringent standard was used. The concentration of sulfate
in groundwater collected at monitoring well MW-10 was 2,000 milligrams per liter (mg/L). This
concentration exceeded the CDPHE secondary drinking water standard. The selenium
concentration, 0.20 mg/L, exceeded the CDPHE agricultural standard. The manganese
concentration, 0.12 mg/L, exceeded the CDPHE secondary drinking water standard. These data
were consistent with previous groundwater sampling results for this monitoring well as shown in
Appendix B.
toaaa999aaa~ 3-1
