<br />This rnap unit occurs exclusively on narrow ridyecrests, mostly <br />under sayebrush. <br />Weiyhted Salvage Thickness by Map Unit: <br />Lift 1: 1 incnes thick <br />Lift 2: 20 inches thick. <br />Total salvage thickness: 21 inches thick <br />2.'2.3 CVD Castner-Vandamore Var. Complex, 25 to 55% slopes <br />This complex map unit consists of Castner cobbly loam and <br />Vandamore var, flagyy sandy loam on moderately steep to steep <br />mountain sideslopes and benches. It is composed of 55% Castner cobbly <br />loam and 2U% Vandamore var. flaggy sandy loam; inclusions are 10% <br />Waybe, 1D% Thornburgh and 5% other soils.' <br />The vegetation type is sayebrush-grassland. The erosion hazard <br />is moderate to very high, runoff is medium to rapid, and flooding <br />Hazard is none. The present land use is ranye, and the ranye site is <br />dry exposure, sandy stony foothills. The SCS capability subclass is <br />VIIe non-irr. <br />These two soils are in parallel families (loamy-skeletal, mixed) <br />and both are less than 2U inches deep. This map unit is characterized • <br />by sandstone flagstones on the surface and occurs mostly on convex <br />postions on the mountainsides. The erosion hazard is high, <br />runoff is rapid, and flooding hazard is none. .The present land use is <br />mining and residences and the ranye site is not given.
