EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN (continued)
• 4. Current Conditions
Map Exhibit C-1 shows the outline of the affected land (inside the permit boundary), topography,
hydrologic factors and existing facilities. No gas lines or other major utilities are buried within 200
feet of the permit area. This map was prepared from an aerial survey in April of 1996, therefore the
map represents the actual current site conditions. AI{ environmental aspects of the land are
discussed in later sections.
5. Land Use and Ownership
The requested permit area curtently is irrigated pasture and used for hay production, although the
irrigation has not been used for some time and the vegetation on the flat terrace is sparse and very
weedy.
M Map Exhibit C-1 shows all adjoining landowners. Carol Ann Schmidt is the landowner and B&B
Excavating Inc. is the operator and applicant. Merv Lapin owns the property to the east and Alberto
Hodari owns the property to the west. Southern Pacific Lines bounds the southern portion of the
affected area and Carol Ann Schmidt owns the property to the north. An access road from the
existing gate located at the southern center of the property to the northeast comer of the property
will be created. Special acceleration/deceleration lanes will be created on Highway 6 to provide
safe access and egress. This is discussed in a later section.
6. Mining Plan
Map Exhibit C-2 shows the mining plan for the entire permit area. Mining in the area will begin at
the northeast comer of the property in the alluvial gravel of the tertace deposit. Topsoil will be
stripped from an approximate 10 acre area east of the unnamed drainage and the soil will be
stockpiled on the southern boundary of the property along Highway 6&24 in the form of a berm. It
is expected that the topsoil stripping depth will be approximately 6 to 12 inches. This work will
Carol Ann Permit CDMG Application
