EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN (continued)
8. Site Facilities and Equinment
Portable processing facilities will be brought in once enough room has been excavated along the
bottom of the pit. Loaders will take the loose material to a portable screening and crushing plant
which will create stockpiles of various materials for final use. Portable stacker conveyors will be
used to create the stockpiles. Equipment to be used for various parts of the operation may include,
but is not limited to, bulldozers, draglines, scrapers, hydraulic excavators, front end loaders, haul
trucks and water trucks for dust suppression.
Processing equipment on the mining site may include, but is not limited to, jaw crushers, convey-
ors, wash plant and asphalt plant. A permanent asphalt plant is not planned for the site, but may be
installed for specific jobs. It is expected that the processing facilities will be used only for material
excavated on site, however, there are certain development projects which require excavation and
this material should be taken to the site for processing instead of hauling to a landfill or other
• undesirable location. A scale house and office trailer will be utilized as shown on Map Exhibit C-2.
These two items will be portable trailers that can be moved off site for reclamation. No concrete
foundations are expected for any item on the site.
All equipment will be operated in compliance with Colorado Department of Health air pollution
and noise standards and the requirements of the Air Emissions Control Permit also issued by the
Department Of Health.
13onnally no more than 6,000 gal. of fuels would be stored on the site. This is usually a 7 day
supply for a normal operation. Until initial excavation begins, the exact location of the processing
plant and support equipment cannot be determined. The following information is based on our past
experience with typical operations we have in the County. Atypical rock crusher/screen plant will
be approximately 40 feet long, 20 feet wide and 10 to 15 feet high. This plant will also have 3 to 5
conveyor transfer points that supply the finished product stockpiles with material. The average
•
Carol Ann Permit CDMG Application i 6
