RESPONSES continued <br />• 2.05.5 (1) (a) How the proposed postmining land use is to be achieved <br />and the necessary support activities which may be needed to achieve the <br />proposed land use; <br />RESPONSE <br />The postmining land use will be achieved by following the pro- <br />posed reclamation plans in item 2.05.4. <br />2.05.5 (1) (b) Where a land use different from the premining land use is <br />proposed, all materials needed for approval of the alternative use under <br />4.16; and <br />RESPONSE <br />^ No land use different from premining use is proposed. <br />2.05.5 (1) (c) The consideration which has been given to making all of <br />the proposed surface mining activities consistent with surface owner plans <br />and applicable State and local land use plans and programs. <br />RESPONSE <br />• The postmining plans were reviewed by the Routt County Com- <br />missioners and planning commission and were approved. <br />H-G Coal Company is the surface owner. <br />2.05.5 (1) (d) Eor surface coal mining activities, where range or grazing <br />is the proposed postmining use, the detailed management plans to be <br />implemented. <br />RESPONSE <br />GRAZING MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />A grazing plan is presently being worked on by the SCS in <br />Steamboat Springs. John Valentine, Range Specialist, will be <br />working with Larry Jackson. An on-site visit by Mr. Valentine <br />is scheduled for the week of July 21. Completion of the grazing <br />plan is scheduled for July 31. Key concepts of the grazing plan <br />will consider the following; <br />1. The plan will emphasize grazing at an intensity which <br />will maintain enough cover to protect the soil and <br />. maintain or improve the quantity and quality of desir- <br />able vegetation. <br />
