2.05.5
RESPONSE continued
Cropland - Due to the steep topography and high altitude, this
land use was not considered.
Pastureland - This land use is closely associated with the pro-
posed grazing land use. The primary difference is that in the
proposed grazing land plan, native plant species will be empha-
sized. But in the pasture land, long-term production of adap-
ted, domesticated forage plants is emphasized consequently
grazing land will be one of the proposed land uses since plants
native to the area will be emphasized.
Forestry - Since no trees of commercial size or quality aze
present on the mine site or adjacent areas, this land use was not
considered.
Residential and Industrial or Commercial - Due to Routt County
• land use plans, water availability, etc. , this land use was not
considered.
Recreation - No developed recreational facilities were considered
due to mine location and Routt County land use plans. An
undeveloped recreational use associated with the proposed wild-
life habitiat is the possibility of hunting on reclaimed land in the
future.
Developed Water Resources - It is the intention of H-G Coal _
Company to leave permanent ponds for use by stock.
The proposed H-G Coal Company land use of grazing land for
domestic wildlife, grazing and/or browsing for wildlife, and the
installation of permanent stock watering ponds has been reviewed
by the Routt County Commissioners and has been approved.
