The lower subsoil is <br />yellowish brown and light yellowish brown heavy silty clay loam <br />extending to 60 inches or more. <br />Permeability is very slow. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or <br />more. Available water capacity is high. Surface runoff is medium. <br />Erosion hazard is high from water.' <br />Capability VIe, non-irrigated <br />Estimated pH: 5.6 - 7.8 <br />Conductivity mmhos~cm: 0 <br />Mapping Unit 2VF - Routt loam, •25 to 65 percent slopes <br />This is a deep, well-drained soil on mo:derafely to very steep <br />mountain sideslopes at elevations of 7000 to 8200 feet. It formed <br />in mixed colluvium and residuum. The average annual precipitation <br />is 20.to 25 inches, the average annual air temperature is 37 to 40 <br />degrees F., and the. frost-free season is 40 to 65 days. <br />Included in this unit are Coutis fine sandy loam and Cochetopa <br />fine sandy loam. Some small areas of Winevada fine sandy loam may <br />also occur. <br />• Typically the surface layer is very dark grayish brown to brown <br />loam about 26 inches thick. The upper subsoil is yellowish brown <br />clay loam about 12 inches thick, with light gray uncoated sand <br />grains occurring on the faces of peds. The lower subsoil is <br />yellowish brown and tight yei'lowish brown heavy silty clay loam <br />extending to 60 inches or more. <br />Permeability is very stow. It <br />has fine, ,granular structure. A leached layer of loam, about 5 <br />• inches thick, underlies the surface layer and is transitional to the <br />90 <br />
