Exhibit A
1 and c^. Because the operation may disturb all portions of the
property, the operator has chosen to permit the entire 35
acres. Any disturbance outside of the mining area would be
minor, such as ^ccassional equipment traffic.
Exhibit D
1. A partial source of topsoil will come from 2.2 acre feet that
is currently stockpiled on the site. Supposedly this 2.2
acre feet was salvaged from the 20 acres where wind deflation
had not removed the surface horizons. Distributing this 2.2
acre feet between 4 to 8 inches deep provides enough topsail
for 4.4 acres, assuming a 6 inch average.
The remaining plant-growth medium necessary to cover the rest
of the 24 acres to the same average depth will be salvaged
from the exposed subsoil areas resulting from the wind
deflation. Texturally, the subsoil of the Blakeland loamy
sand is the same as the surface horizon. A concern therefore
would 6e that the subsoil have an equal availability of
organic matter. The addition of organic matter to the
subsoil being used as plant-growth medium would provide the
additional humus source necessary in part to bind the soil
together for structure formation and also provide additional
exchange sites for the soil chemical process. In order to
bring the organic matter content up to 2 to 4 percent
(topsail equivalent for this sail), 2 tons per acre foot of
weed free manure will be added at the time of distribution
for reclamation. In addition, composite samples will be
taken at the time of placement so that fertilizer and other
amendments can 6e determined.
Based on the changes in topsoil handling, organic matter
amendment and increased acres to be reclaimed, the
reclamation costs will be as follows:
Topsoiling
17.1 acres due to mining (6 inch average
@ 50.8D/yd. 511,035.20
12.7 acres to have manure @
2 tons/acre and 56.00/tan 203.20
Grading
2 hours of scraper time per acre at
560.00/hr. 2,400.00
Seeding, mulching, and cr-imping
17.1 acres @ 5300.00/acre 5,130.00
Total 518,420.40
1
veering & Envnonmental
