Rule:: Permits
(7) Coal Handling Structures
Coal Handling structures as identified on Map 2.05.3-1, Mine Plan, are described in the
Operations Plan above. Coal will be loaded on haul trucks by front end loader for
transport to the loadout. Coal will be end-dumped at the loadout and reclaimed by front
end loader to rail cars for transfer to the Picketwire preparation plant or direct shipment
to customers.
(8) Coal Mine Waste and Non-Coal Processing Waste
When necessary ,coal will be processed at the existing permitted Picketwire preparation
plant under a modification of the approved Permit C-81-012.
All waste oils and grease, waste paints and waste batteries will re recycled when feasible.
Waste oils and grease and waste batteries will be stored in the fuel storage area. The
waste oils and grease will be periodically picked up by an oil recovery service and
recycled or re-blended in accordance with all applicable state and federal guidelines.
Waste paints and household type materials will typically be used in a timely manner, with
little waste material remaining on site. However, waste paints that may not be
completely used will be recycled if possible through an approved facility. Those
materials that cannot be recycled will be periodically logged and inventoried for off-site
disposal at an approved facility.
2.05.4 RECLAMATION PLAN
The surface mines will be reclaimed as mining activities are complete. Reclamation
activities will require a period of approximately four to five months, which will include
salvage and removal of structures, backfill and grading, topsoiling and seeding. These
activities are further described in the sections below.
Backtilling and Grading
The reclamation plan will result in the site being returned to approximate original
contour. The post-mining topography is presented in Map 2.05.4-1 and is supported by
Figures 2.05.4-1 through 2.05.4-14c. Figures 2.05.4-14d through 2.05.4-141 illustrate
designs for fills I through 9, respectively.
s
PR-~ 1
LorencitaPmt(475)Ju1y2001.wpd 2.05-40 (Revised 8-16-O1)
