Battle Mountain Gold has an
excellent safety record. We have never had any type
of adversarial positions in our business. it's just
that we're not -- we don't have that and wee want to
be open communicators with the people, and I
appreciate these people coming here today t.o learn
about mining.
Early on we recognized that this is
'not a mining community down there, so when we looked
at this project, we wanted to build in certain
comfort levels, not only for ourselves, but for the
people that live in the area, Costilla County, San
Luis, and that is a topographical map. It doesn't
!have cross sections.
But when we looked at that area there
and we did a lot of developmental drilling up
there -- we drilled about 600 holes to prove out
that ore body and to learn about the water and
establishing data base information -- we felt that
it was critical that we address the location of the
plant.
