Thank you for your timely review. Responses are organized in the same format
presented in your letter.
Exhibit B. -Index Map
Two copies of a revised Site index Map Have been included. Revisions
include labeling of all streets in the vicinity
Exhibit D - Mining:Plan
The report titled "Turnpike Mining Resource Low Water Crossing Design Report"
has been included and is referenced below in response to adequacy items a).
In response to:
1 } A small amount of topsoil material will be salvaged from an existing island
in the middle of the proposed low water crossing location. The volume is
approximately 3-4 yd3 and will be placed approximately 20 ft east of the
east river bank.
2) The structure description is given in Section 2.0 -Crossing Geometry
3) Water management during construction is addressed. in Section 6.0 -
Conclusions, and water management during the use is addressed in
Section 4.0 -Hydraulic Design. .
4) Measures to insure impacts to Boulder Creek are mitigated are addressed
in Section 4.0 -Hydraulic Design. In summary, the structure is designed
to fail for flood events where water surface elevations exceed 4940 ft and
therefore eliminating backwater effects (increased flooding) that could
result upstream.
