Charles Bud Keeling
July 16, 1991 - Page 2
3. Seeding & Eulching - The area should be mulched with a minimum of 4000
pounds per acre of native or meadow grass hay. The material will be
clean and free of mold and average at least 8 inches in leaf length.
The mulch will be spread uniformly over the area right after seeding
end crimped in with a disk type implement.
The seed will be planted 1/4 inch deep with a seed drill. The time
of seeding will. be in the late fall or very early spring. The seeded
area will be fenced to protect it from livestock grazing until the
newly planted vegetation is well established. The seed mixvNill
consist of:
Arriba Western wheatgrass - 8 lbs, per acre Pure Live Seed
Lincoln Smooth brome - 6.5 lbs, per acre Pure Live Seed
Yellow sweet clover - 1 lb. per acre Pure Live Seed
4. Fertilization - The ground to be mulched and reseeded will be fertilized
with a minimum of 40 pounds of available nitrogen and 40 pounds of
available phosphorus per acre. It is proposed this will be prior to
seeding and mulching.
The sequence of doing this reclamation is shaping and grading, applying any
available finer textured subsoil material, applying a minimum 6 inch layer of
topsoil naterial, applying fertilizer, drilling seed, spreading and crimping
in the mulch and constructing a fence to exclude livestock.
Sincerely,
Donald R.
