Ms. Carla Lenkey
October 27, 2000
Page 2
As noted on the enclosed monthly NOAH weather summary for September, precipitation in the amount
of 1.46" was recorded on 09/22/00. A l0-year, 24-hour event at Trapper is defined as 1.40". Daily
precipitation measurements are recorded at 7:30 a.m. The samples were collected at 9:40 a.m. (outfall
001) , 10:40 a.m. (outfall 017), and 11:15 a.m. (outfall Ol 1) on 09/22/00. This information demonstrates
these discharges were sampled within 48 hours of measurable precipitation.
Trapper is required to maintain sediment levels in ponds at or below 60% of the pond volume. The
ponds contributing to outfalls 001, Ol 1, and 017 all contained sediment levels well below this limit at the
time the exceedenas occurred. The exceedences occurred solely in response to precipitation and
therefore, the alternative limitations in these instances are applicable. No other exceedences or variances
from compliance with primary effluent limitations cecured during the quarter. Thank you for your
cooperation in this matter. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the enclosed
information.
Sincerely,

Karl C.
