During this quarter, four NPDES outfalls were active. Outfall 002
discharged routinely throughout the quarter. Outfall 001 discharged in July and again in September in
response to precipitation events. And outfalls 01 1 and 017 discharged in September in response to
precipitation. Outfalls 003, 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 012, 013, 014, OIS, 016, 019, and 020 did not
discharge during the quarter. Outfall 018 is associated with a sediment pond that has not yet been
constructed. No discharge is reported for this outfall. Values reported on the enclosed DMRs represent
the maximum (or minimum as applicable) monthly/daily values generated at each outfall during the
quarter.
Also enclosed are monthly NOAA weather summaries for the reporting period, seep volume data for site
Ol I, and WET test report forms as applicable. Two outfalls were sampled for WET analyses during the
quarter. Two species acute tests were completed at outfalls 001 and Ol 1 during the reporting period. No
exceedences of WET test limitations were observed at any tested outfalls.
Four exceedences of primary effluent limitations occurred during the quarter, however, in all instances,
altemate limitations are applicable as the exceedences were attributable to runoff stemming from a
precipitation event and the sediment ponds contributing to the outfalls were being properly maintained
and operated. At outfalls OOI, OI 1, and 017, the primary thirty-day average limitations for TSS were
exceeded by samples collected 09/22/00 (57 mg/I, 54 mg/I and 68 mg/I respectively). At outfa11017, the
primary thirty-day average limitations for total iron was exceeded as well (3.6 mg/1). In all instances, the
alternate daily maximum limitations for pH and oil and grease, applicable in the event of discharge
caused by precipitation (or snowmelt) greater than or equal to the 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event
were met. The alternative daily maximum limitations for settleable solids, applicable in the event of
discharge caused by precipitation (or snowmelt) less than or equal to the 10-year, 24-hour precipitation
event, were met though these limits were not applicable given the magnitude of the precipitation event
causing the discharges.
P.0.
