METHODS Cont' d <br />Ceriodaohnia dubia were exposed to the following tests: <br />48 hour acute bioassays - <br />EFFLUENT - Five concentrations of effluent, 12.5%, 250, <br />500, 75% and 1000, prepared using laboratory water <br />reconstituted to 140 mg/L CaC03. Control replicates were <br />exposed to 100% reconstituted laboratory water. <br />B-SEAM SPRING WATER - Five concentrations of spring <br />water, 12.50, 250, 50%, 75% and 100%, prepared using <br />laboratory water reconstituted to 140 mg/L CaC03. Control <br />replicates were exposed to 100% laboratory water. <br />MOCK EFFLUENT <br />- 2.84 g/L NaCl stock solution prepared with laboratory <br />water reconstituted to 140 mg/L CaC03. Organisms were <br />exposed to five concentrations of the NaCl Stock <br />solution, 12.50, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, prepared using <br />reconstituted laboratory water so as to mimic sodium <br />concentrations of effluent dilutions above. <br />- 4.079 g/L NaHC03 stock solution prepared with laboratory <br />water reconstituted to 140 mg/L CaC03. Organisms were <br />exposed to five concentrations of the NaHCO; stock <br />solution, 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, prepared using <br />reconstituted laboratory water so as to mimic sodium <br />concentrations of effluent dilutions above. <br />MOCK B-SEAM SPRING WATER <br />- Concentrations of NaCL and NaHC03 were prepared as in <br />the Mock Effluent above so as to mimic sodium <br />concentrations of B-seam spring water. <br />Duplicate Characterization Tests - <br />EDTA CHELATION TEST <br />- Ten aliquots of 1000 effluent containing 0.0 to 1.0 ml. <br />of 3.723 g/L EDTA. <br />- Ten aliquots of 100% B-seam spring water containing 0.0 <br />to 1.0 ml. of 3.723 g/L EDTA. <br />- Ten aliquots of 100% Mock Effluent, prepared with NaHC03 <br />as described above, containing 0.0 to 1.0 ml. of 3.723 <br />g/L EDTA. <br />-3- <br />COMMER CIAL TESTING & EN GINEE RING CO. <br />_oo Lt~ <br />umal Walerm arketl For Vour ProlecLOn <br />
