PathQpen Limitations <br /> <br />If the biosolids are to be land applied to agricultural land, forest land, a public contact site or a reclamation site, <br />the biosolids shall meet either Class A or Class B (including the site restrictions) criteria identified in the <br />following two tables. If the biosolids aze to be sold or given away in a bag or similaz enclosure for application <br />to land or for use on a lawn or home garden, the biosolids shall meet Class A criteria as described in the <br />following table. Compliance with either Class A or Class B fecal colifotm or salmonella requirements as listed <br />in the following two tables shall be determined based upon seven discrete samples for Class A and the geometric <br />mean of seven individual biosolids samples collected over a two week period for Class B. <br />(I) Class A Pathogen Requirements <br />Fecal Coliform and Salmonella <br />Limits Process Requirements (One of the following): <br />Fecal Coliforms shall be < AND 1. Composting using either the within-vessel or static aerated pile composting <br />1000 MPN/gram of total solids method, the temperature of the sludge is maintained at 55°C or higher for <br />OR three days. ~ <br /> <br />Salmonella shall be < 3 ~ <br />OR <br />MPNl4 grams of total solids 2. Composting using the windrow method, the temperature of the sludge is <br /> main a;ngd at 55°C or higher for 15 days or longer, with a minimum of 5 <br /> s of the Ile durin those 15 da s. <br />(ii) Class B Pathogen Requiremenu <br />Fecal Colifotm Limit Process Re uirements: <br />Fecal Colifotms shall be < OR Aerobic digestion for 40 days at 20°C to 60 days at 15°C. <br />2,000,000 MPN or CFU/gram <br />of total solids Anaerobic di estion for 15 da s within 35°C-55°C to 60 da s at 20°C <br />(iii) Site Restrictions <br />The petmittee shall comply with g]l of the site restrictions listed below: <br />(I) Food crops with harvested parts that touch the biosolids/soil mixture and aze totally above the land <br />surface shall not be harvested for 14 months afrer application. <br />(2) Food crops with harvested parts below the land surface shall not be harvested for 20 months afrer <br />application if the biosolids remain on the land surface for four months or more prior to incorporation <br />into the soil. <br />(3) Food crops with harvested parts below the land surface shall no[ be harvested for 38 months after <br />application if the biosolids remain on the land surface for less than four months prior to incorporation <br />into the soil. <br />PART I <br />Page 4c <br />Permit No. CO-004477( <br />Amendment I~lo. 1 Issued II I~_~~9 Effective <br />
