• DISTRIBUTION AND EXTENT: Southeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado. Begay soils are moderately <br />extensive. MLRA 34, 35 and 48A. <br />MLRA OFFICE RESPONSIBLE: Phoenix, Arizona <br />SERIES ESTABLISHED: San Juan County, Utah, 1976. <br />REMARKS: These soils have been correlated to semidesert range sites in Utah. <br />Diagnostic horizons and features recognized in this pedon are: <br />Ochric epipedon -from 0 to 3 inches (A horizon). <br />Cambic horizon -from 3 to 16 inches (Bw horizon). <br />The Bk horizon is assumed to have too little carbonate to be a calcic horizon. <br />In December 1994 the classfication was changed from Ustollic Camborthids to Ustic Haplocambids. <br />• <br /> <br />(Revised March 2006) Attachment 2.04.9-3-8 <br />
