What is the maximum length of slope that will be allowed on reclaimed <br />areasl Will this length vary depending on slope steepness? Please <br />quantify your answer, l:lil/2 to 3:1 depending on steepness. A11 slopes will <br />be reseeded to vegetation. <br />2. Wil l a pond be established as part of the reclamation plan? If it is, <br />you may need to contact the State Engineer's Office in order to comply <br />with state water laws. Also. please be advised that you should read <br />Rule 6.1(f) (of the Minerals Rules and Regulations) which specifically <br />outlines sloping requirements for lakes and ponds. <br />No plans for lake or pond. <br />3. Will fertilizer be applied at this site following final grading and <br />topsoil replacement but prior to seedbed preparation? At what rate will <br />fertilizer be applied? see Exhibit D. <br />4. Now will the seedbed be prepared?see Exhibit D. <br />5. Will mulch be used? What type and at what application rate? see Exhibit D. <br />6. We recommend mulch be applied following seeding and that it be crimped <br />in (if hay or straw) along the contour. A preferred alternative would <br />be the use of feedlot or barnyard manure at the minimum rate of 20 dry <br />tons per acre. Please state what you will do. A mulch will be used. <br />7. Will weeds be controlled, following re vegetation, by mowing? Yes, see Exhibit D. <br />8. Will the site be fenced and/or grazing deferred for at least two years <br />following seeding or until the grasses are established? Yes, see Exhibit D. <br />9. Will positive drainage from and/or across the site be established by <br />final grading? Yes. <br />General <br />1. Pursuant to Rule 1.5(6), please provide us with an agreement between Rio <br />Grande County and the person(s) owning or having an interest in the <br />Minor Ditch which states that Rio Grande County will compensate the <br />ditch owners for any damage caused by the mining operation. <br />Minor Ditch is around 1,000 feet from mine permit area. <br />2. Pursuant to Rule 1.5(6), please provide us with an agreement between Rio <br />Grande County and the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad that Rio Grande <br />County will compensate the~A#~e#1-ewr~ns for any damage caused by the <br />mining operation. h4~ ro -d <br />See attachment. <br />/bdc <br />7520E <br />
