NORTHWEST COLORADO CONSULTANTS, INC.
•
•
Project: Waste Coal Pile
North Access Road
Location: Foidel Creek Mine
Client: Bower Brothers
Project No.: 98-3600
Date: 07!06/98
Time: 4.0
Mileage: 40
EngrJTech: JK
Work Pertormed:
Report No.: 1
As requested, we visited the project site and conducted nuclear density test No.'s 1 through 4 on roadway gravel
fills. Bower Brothers crews placed, moistened, and compacted imported pit run sands and gravels (subbase) and
roadbase materials for the Waste Coal Pile's north access road. We also verified the thickness and width of each
lift of gravels placed. We obtained two samples of material for checkpoint Proctor determination. The
checkpoints matched previous Proctor curves from project No. 97-2969 and will be designated as samples No.'s 1
and 2 for this project. We waited on-site and observed placement and compaction of roadbase materials.
Remarks:
The material tested generally met project specifications for compaction and moisture. We determined the width of
placed gravels to range from 22 to 26' for the subbase and roadbase, and the thicknesses ranged from 9 to 10".
Please refer to the attached sheet for results of today's testing.
Verbal Discussions:
Bud Bower of Bower Brothers Construction was notified of today's test results.
n
U
