3.6 SPRING AND SEEP WATER QUALITY •
Table B-2 in Appendix B presents the water-quality data for the springs and seeps
at the Trapper Mine. The spring and seep locations are shown on Maps 2-1, 2-2 and 2-3.
Flow from the springs and seeps are shown on Table B-2, which shows that several springs
exceeded 5 gpm in their discharge rate in 1999. Water quality from the springs and seeps
are similar to the ground-water quality for the site. The TDS from Johnson Gulch spring is
much higher than the remainder of the springs' water quality. This springs'TDS is similar
to that observed from backfill well GF-7. A substantial decline in TDS in the backfill aquifer
at well GF-7 will likely be necessary for the TDS concentrations in the Johnson Gulch spring
to decline.
3-12
