2, s. Disturbance to the prevailing hydrologic balance of
• the affected land and of the surrounding area is not
expected to occur.
b. Water will not be impounded.
3. a. Wildlife in the area will not be substantially adversely
affected by the mining and reclamation activity. The
mining operation has been continuous for the past 50
years and what limited wildlife is in the area has
adapted to the mining activity. There are no known
species which require special consideration is the area.
b. The reclamation shall provide improvement of wildlife
habitat as the sandstone overburden will provide a much
better base for vegetation growth than the barren rock
outcropping now existing. Remaining high walls will
be stabilized and left as they match the existing
natural hogback formations.
c. Backfilling will be carried on continuously as part of
the stripping program of the mining plan. Grading will
be accomplished as soon as possible when access across
the area is no longer required.
d. There will be no acid forming or toxic producing
materials mined.
e. All drill holes will be plugged or covered. There will
be no addits or shaft in the mining operation.
f. Maximum slopes will not exceed 2 to 1 and will conform
to the surrounding area as closely as practical.
g. Agricultural use is not practical in this area.
