' Sromrwara Managcmrnr Plan
Map of the Affected Area
Kaiser Steel Resources has attached Figure 1 to this SWMP showing the outfalls and
discharge locations, the reclaimed mine site, and receiving waters. Any discharge from the
site flows into Stollsteimer Creek and then to the Piedra River.
Stormwater Controls
Kaiser Steel Resources has worked closely with the Colorado Division of Minerals and
Geology to undertake total reclamation of the Chimney Rock Coal Mine. The Reclamation
' Plan is an element of the Permit to Conduct Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation
Activities, Permit #C-81-023. The Stormwater controls contained therein include
sedimentation ponds and revegetation techniques which are incorporated here by reference.
Schedule of Activities
No new operations or activities will be undertaken by Kaiser Steel Resources at the
Reclaimed Chimney Rock Coal Mine.
J Plan Availability
Since no facilities or personnel are at the site, a copy of the SWMP will be kept at the
offices of Kaiser Steel Resources in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The SWMP will be available
to all personnel involved with compliance for the Reclaimed Chimney Rock Coal Mine.
Statement of Certification
' To indicate Kaiser Steel Resource's support with the stated goals of the SWMP, the
requirements contained in the plan will be implemented and maintained at the Reclaimed
Chimney Rock Coal Mine. In addition, Kaiser Steel Resources will utilize post-mining
discharge limitations for each of its authorized outfalls for the Reclaimed Chimney Rock
Coal Mine. Kaiser Steel Resources will also utilize post-mining limitations since all outfalls
serving the surface area have been returned to the required contour and revegetation
including seeding and planting has been completed.
2
